this seems intriguing! cyclists of tumblr observe and maybe deem worthy?
This is a good idea. Thoughts:
- Needs a stem clamp. Lots of phones are too big to be mounted on the handlebars. It seems that this would impact the design, but they’re design engineers, I’m sure they can come up with something.
- Not waterproof, and the waterproof baggy idea is pretty ghetto.
- How does it fare in a crash? It says it doesn’t save the phone from damage, but that’s not really answering how well it fares in a crash.
- Do the internal dimensions fit all phones out there?
- I’d like to plug blah in to my phone, can I? (currently no, they say use a knife to cut a hole).
- How does it deteriorate over time? i.e. will the strap snap like the first Light & Motion strap I had, or will it be more durable like the replacement strap?
Overall, I like the idea. I have a feeling it will be the rubberized plastic polymer for the final construction. I would like to see this come to fruition. I would not buy it myself though, not without the stem mount.
